Spring has sprung with the beginning of... a Kercheif Tanktop!

Not your typical Granny Square, but a Granny Square nonetheless... Done in a cotton/acrylic thin yarn, a #3 yarn weight, this will eventually be a Kercheif Tanktop. 4 of these sewn together in just the right way with the addition of crocheted shoulder straps will make this beauty something fun to wear! I'm experimenting with different types of yarn to see what feels right. In the summer, you don't want something "hot" to wear, so a yarn with cotton is the answer. Some cottons just don't hold their shape the way I like them to, so I wanted something other than 100% cotton and this combo of cotton with added acrylic feels light and airy. First time I'm making this tank, but I can't wait to share the finished project! This is an example of why I love granny squares! They are just so versatile and classy... Stay tuned for the finish project...

Square Granny... Who am i?

I'm a girl who loves making Granny Squares! And while I make them I explore their potential... in clothing and in decor items thrown in here and there. Why Granny Squares? Because they are timeless. Color combinations galore. Fun to make! But Granny Squares are more then just squares, they can be rectangles and triangles and circles too! Though my blog is Square Granny, I'm anything but... I'm retired, adventurous and want to create. This is what Square Granny is about... my creations using traditional granny squares and not so traditional granny stitches! I'll be posting them right here, talking about them and making some available for purchase. Follow along on my journey!
